How it works · Blocking IL-23
Immune cells release IL-23

IL-23 is a chemical messenger. Overactive immune cells release it to call in more inflammation.

What it’s used for

Psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

How it works

It neutralizes IL-23 so the inflammatory immune cells it supports settle down.

How it’s taken

An injection under the skin at weeks 0 and 4, then every 12 weeks.

Side effects

Colds, headache, fatigue and injection-site reactions. Liver tests are checked in bowel disease dosing.

Monitoring

TB screening, then routine follow-up.

Good to know

Only four injections a year once established.
